In A Link Between Worlds, you meet this strange wandering fellow Ravio whom you let into your house, but then he basically takes up residence there and turns it into a shop. xD In the beginning of the game, you can pay for any item there to rent (you hold on to them until you're killed basically). Although apparently later in the game you can buy them for keeps.
