I think he wouldn't even want to acknowledge it to himself, but he did remove the illusion to let Thor see the effect her death had had on him, which speaks volumes.

Someone may shoot me for this but I think when Loki said "I didn't do it for him" meaning Odin. I think Loki meant 'this is what mother would have wanted'.

No, no one'll shoot you, I completely agree. I think when they made it clear from the beginning that he was doing this for his mother, I think that's what he was saying.

I loved this scene. And then nearly left the theater after he "died" because the rest of the movie without him was just stupid.

Well, I never thought of it in percentage, but you're right, I think he uses truth more than any lies Β And I just figured it was all completely illusion, like cutting off Thor's hand, just to get Thor to leave him behind so he didn't have to return to prison, not necessarily that he was in any pain or anything...I mean, he endured a lot in Avengers, and even being Hulk-smashed only gave him a couple scratches...I think a dark-elf sword really didn't do much to him, he just saw his opportunity...but yeah, that's what's fun about Loki, you can never be 100% sure, lol...

I agree with what you two are saying but I think that no one else can touch the illusions. This is show through Frigga when she did the illusion of Jane. When the dark elf tried to stab her it disappeared. Plus when Frigga 'visited' Loki, she faded away after their hands connected. Also when Loki was playing around after he was freed, his current illusion (Captain America I believe) disappeared when Thor grabs him.

That is a good point, though I always thought the one with Captain America just disappeared because he was annoyed/irritated by Thor's actions.Β It's just, if it wasn't an illusion, how did he survive to return to Asgard?Β That's what I want to know, and maybe it'll all be explained in the third Thor...

Healing stones or his own healing abilities which in myth and the comics were greater.

Poor guy, he desperately needs some awesome chick to sweep him off his feet.Β
To see him in all his sexy cold blue Jotun glory and be all "How you doin?"
also Theory! I'm pretty sure that Loki wants to kill Odin, you know, if he hasn't already.Β
but here's the thing, I'm not sure anyone has the power to kill that dillhole...Β
Unless unless he has the 'infinity gauntlet' (gives you unlimited power) but it has five 'stones' that go in it...
the tesseract was one of them, theΒ AetherΒ was another... the infinity gauntlet is in Asgard as is the tesseract.
is Loki using that 'collector' guy to round up the rest of them without suspicion so that he can kill Odin?
I think SO!

True, he definitely needs someone special
I don't think Loki would kill Odin, not after killing his birth father and trying to destroy Jotunheim just to earn Odin's approval and love, and you can see in the second movie when Odin says that his birthright was to die alone on a frozen rock that it hurts him deep, because I think a part of him still loves him, and the denial of him as his father is just a wall to keep out more pain.
However, that being said, I wouldn't put it past him one little bit to imprison Odin, perhaps disguised as someone else, as payback and leave him there for a good long time. As for the whole infinity gauntlet business, I know nothing, I just expect Loki to try to take more power eventually. After all, in his own words, "satisfaction is not in my nature".

Exactly! and not only that, but apparently he's a freaking saint. Because upon learning that his cousin Drogo and his wife had drowned, he randomly adopted their little boy! (Frodo) and apparently he was like the best parent ever because Frodo turned out to be a pretty amazing person.
