Description You have to ask yourself, what would a near seven foot tall war goddess that was originally carved out of clay and brought to life blessed with the power six Olympian deities actually look like?
Wonder Woman is an Amazon warrior princess and one of the most powerful characters in the DC Universe. Wonder Woman can lift tanks over her head so I imagine she would look pretty intimidating but still maintain a level of natural beauty within her muscularity and prowess. Truth is she could kick your ass and so I feel she should look like she could kick your ass.
I really enjoyed doing this piece. It was a lot of fun.

Mixed Media -Mainly Art Tria Markers and Pantone pens but a bit of pencil crayon and ink as well.

Really appreciate it, man. Sometimes you just need a break from cheesecake and pinups that look like they can't even pick up a sword.

The artwork is good, but I think the reason why people don't draw her like this is because when women look like this it usually means they take steroids and body build.Β  And since you said Diana was molded from clay and blessed with divine powers, why should she look like a body builder? sure she can be muscular, but not to the extent that she is in this picture, it makes her look too masculine to be honest.Β

Yeah. The thing is that Wonder Woman was suppose to be lean and have an athletic physique to where when she was in the human world, she could still blend in. Her being buff like a fbb would’ve made her stand out. Which defeats the whole purpose of her secret identity.

"why should she look like a body builder?"

For about the exact same reason she's still considered a real woman despite being molded from clay as per her most widely accepted/generally known origin story| Not to mention it being a total double standard(her being considered a real woman & all despite origin)that most male superheroes have the bodybuilder physiques as you put it but not even their female counterparts do & just look like otherwise regular women| Not even Batman & Batgirl because there is a logic to that but look no further than The Incredible Hulk and tha Savage/Sensational She-Hulk if'n ya want a prime/classic example of what I mean: Hulk looks like a literal tank(I would've said GREEN tank but that's a default color 4 em)whilst being stronger than a dozen tanks whereas She-Hulk is like a half-dozen(or more)tanks...hidden in a GREEN supermodel a.k.a. a regular size woman and that gets boring after a while or tha very 1st day for my money| The goddesses should at least have the above definition if not larger size if a god like Thor or her sworn enemy tha God of War can have size AND physique to boot|

"why should she look like a body builder?"

OK a good reason for her to NOT look like a bodybuilder is because that's not what true strength looks like| Tha really really ripped/ultimate definition you always see in the aforementioned competitions is actually what muscles look like when they're at their weakest which is another reason why they always say they have a harder time holding those poses than building tha muscle to begin with| Entertainment in general is another reason we hold the misconception that more ripped = more power when something like this:Β

:here is more along tha lines of a powerlifter which is the true strength ideal|

" it makes her look too masculine..."

There was once a time when a woman wearing pants was too masculine or doing manual labor was considered too masculine and well HECK if either of those things are really in effect any more...ah well I'm sure some are still "like that" today but 4 tha most part - not really| I have in my galleries(here & YouTube)quite a few depictions of women affecting various degrees of muscularity & I invite you to choose from em your favorites and/or acceptables| Tha following is an example of the degrees you can expect:

Thanks for including my Big Curvy Beach Girl in your comment.

I agree totally that women who are supposed to be strong should at least look they are capable of being strong, and not a skinny runway model. The powerlifter, heavily built but still curvy is my ideal woman. It is, I think, a realistic ideal as well.

The really ripped, skin and muscle bodies that bodybuilders adopt for competitions just looks unhealthy to me. Off-season bodybuilders look much better/ healthier.

The Realistic Wonder Woman above is a pretty good compromise: there is muscle, clearly, but also a healthy covering of flesh.

Well I tried to stay as realistic as possible. To me she would be the ultimate bodybuilder, perfectly symmetrical and balanced (as if she was sculpted to perfection). Note: that her breasts are not bigger than her head (which I seem to see a lot of here on deviantart ...lol).
