got the books about 2 days ago, read the 1st one in 1 day just so i could get to bunny
I'm just a little over halfway through, and i gotta say i adore the bookverse Bunny, despite the fact that he's all snooty and sassy XDDD I love the idea for some reason, cause the movie one gets in my head, and it's just not-stop laughter after that XDDDD
Love the way you just added little details to make both versions of him look different too

So if Pitch was doing his job, and the Guardians were doing their job, what was Man in the Moon's plan, exactly?
I want to respect the origin of the character, but not even gonna lie: Movie!Bunnymund > Book!Bunnymund.

But Pitch didn't start out being a bad guy, he was the main hero of the Golden Age. He was tricked by the fearlings using his daughter to get to him and he was taken over by them. Besides that, MiM was still a baby (or not even born yet, can't quite remember) when Pitch got turned so he really had no say in the matter. I don't think anyone intended for Pitch to end up the way he is now.

In a prequel to the movie, a comic established that Pitch Black's job was to instill fear in children to keep them safe and away from danger.
Movie!Pitch is not the same person as book!Pitch.

Which comic are you talking about? Was it written by William Joyce? I just find it difficult to believe that he would write the Guardians series and even help make the movie and then go back and write a comic that basically disregards Pitch's entire backstory, which he himself wrote. I have seen other mini books that are about the guardians but aren't written by Joyce, and as far as I'm concerned they aren't canon. They're just for fun. I'm not Joyce though so who knows.

I'm not trying to infringe on whatever your headcannon is, I'm just saying that the two mediums have different versions of the characters.

I think you're confusing the meaning of the word "headcanon." Usually that's something that is factual only in your head at the present time, hence the name. What I'm saying is simply that what Joyce wrote is, in my opinion, the ultimate canon. Now if other people want to build off of that and write their own versions of his characters with different origins and purposes, that's cool, more power to them. I'm just saying that I choose to side with the original ideas for the characters. That's all.

But they didn't say that in the movie :/ In the movie is like MIM made Pitch as a fear monster and then he choose the other guardians because "nha I don't like you anymore lol you're a bad guy" XD

Haha, I think it would have been better if they had given us a tiny bit more of the actual backstory. But then again it's a kids movie, it's not meant to be complex. I'm sure it was easier just to show good and evil with Pitch and the guardians and not have to explain anything. What they really should do now is make a prequel that shows how Pitch came to be and also Katherine and Nightlight! I seriously love Nightlight so much, he's like the Jack Frost of his time.
