Speaking as the guy who wrote the script? There just wasn't room for him in the story.
Heck, when I did a prose version of this, I couldn't find room for him in the story (the extended prose version has more stuff with Montoya and Bullock).
If there was room, I could have done a Damian cameo, but it just wouldn't have worked for the story.
Assume Damian is off doing his own patrol OR with the TT OR hanging out with Jon Kent.

Ya know, for the Batman's real son, I find Damian has no manner at all, Richard Grayson are a lot more mannered (He's the first Robin after all)

No Robin in this story. In all honesty I'm not a fan of Robins. There's enough supporting cast with Alfred and Gordon. I've never thought a kid could fit this universe.
