Description This is a Charging Chuck from the SNES game Super Mario World (my personal favorite mario game).  It is part of a tribute to the awesome bad guys from the mario series called 'Mario's Blacklist'.  Mario's blacklist is put on by .  Charging chucks usually guarded the end of the levels in SMW.  They either chased you, jumped up to try and grab you, or kicked footballs at you.  nasty little buggers.

I did ALL of this in one day!  It was fun.  I laughed a bit, I cried a bit.  I cussed out my laptop a few times when I couldn't figure out something in photoshop (I have always used corel painter till recently).  Overall, I am quite proud of myself  Not my best work, but good nonetheless.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

I'm not gonna lie, the apple is probably my favorite part of this whole thing. It looks awesome, and I love the way you pixellated the background elements! Because you welcome cc, I'll add this: overall I think you tied the pixel background with the non-pixel foreground fairly well. I'm taking into account the fact that you did this in just one day when I say that the pixel/non-pixel bits are meshing a little sharply. If you'd had more time, I think you would have been able to make the transition smoother. Overall, a really great piece. I couldn't have done so well in so little time, bravo! The motion lines are really great and add a lot of dynamics to the movement as well.

Thankyou! The apple was fun to do  It is actually the original apple with another layer on top set at 50% opacity.

and thank you for the advice on the BG.  I suck at backgrounds (only recently started doing them), so I need a lot of practice  I will look for ways to transition better

Thanks for the kind words and advice!

Anytime! If you ever want more involved critique or advice, note me with a link to your piece and I'll talk to you about it. I like helping people who are just learning the ways of the background. Incidentally, backgrounds are my favorite part of painting! I'm sure with practice you'll be amazing at them.
