I'm free. I have been in a university art program setting for so long. I have had to ask myself what every brush stroke that I put on canvas meant. I have had to have a REASON to paint a certain way, to paint a certain topic. and to be honest? I have not enjoyed painting for quite a while. I have had to paint topics that I did not care about because they were 'conceptually sound'. I have wanted to quit Sooooo much, but I stayed in because I was close to graduating.

But I am graduating in two days. I was sitting at my desk, and I had the urge to paint something (my Girlfriend), and I just DID. No reason. the green was just because. I am free. And to be honest, I think this looks way better than ANYTHING I had in my official senior exhibition, if for no other reason than I WANTED to paint this. I didn't do it for a class, I didn't do it for a portfolio: I did this for me. and only me.
