Description Padillasaurus, the first dinosaur genera described for Colombia, was first published in 2015 (Carballido et al., 2015). It was originally suggested that this sauropod was member of Brachiosauridae, and while later analyses proposed a different placement (as a somphospondylan; Mannion et al., 2017), the most recent publication by Carballido et al (2022) maintains its original classification within this family. Thus, Padillasaurus has here been reconstructed based on other brachiosaurids.
