I apologize if the drawing seems too dark, it looks okay to me, but it seems my screen is a bit on the light side!

My entry for this round of , where the subject was "high heels". Well, that should be easy, which girl doesn't love to wear high heels, right? Well, ME! With problematic hips and knees, a bad back and weak ankles, I usually find wearing simply sneakers tiring and painful enough after a while. So I envy anyone who can do it, because high heels looks AWESOME, and even more, it makes the wearer looks awesome!
But my own issues aside, high heels calls for either party or pin-up. And pin-ups are awesome, right? Sexy, graceful and coy without being slutty, how can you not like it? I knew you'd agree!
And where better to go for stock photo than the queen of high heels and body-suits, Sakky? (also, the photo had a tiny bit of frog perspective, how cool isn't that?) 
I also knew I wanted her to be chocolate skinned, with golden hair and lots and lots of green. I like that look, and it seemed fitting for the drawing! That only left; what to wear? Well, something under-weary was obviously the choice, but instead of the all over ruffles and laces and light and airy colours kind of thing, I wanted something bold and daring, but with a little lace still!I also tried a slightly different style of drawing with this girl, because it's always fun to experiment! It's a liiiiiiittle bit less animanga style, and a liiiiiiittle bit more American comic. Personally, I think she came out great, just the way I wanted her!
The title is obviously a tip to Moulin Rouge's green fairy (along with the slightly psychedelic background), because how could I NOT have "Lady Marmalade" running through my head the whole time while finishing this?
Thank goodness the deadline was a Saturday, otherwise I would NEVER have been able to finish this! Man, work is so busy right now! Lace texture from .

good job. it may be a little dark... but it's a good skintone and there aren't many carmel girls in manga art, so it's a good change
i'm having the same problem are you working on a laptop too? i always think the work looks a bit too light and so i darkeren it only to find it looks to dark on my other moniter or the color is a little too yellow or something it's so hard to get use to

Thanks! Yeah, I'm working on a laptop too, I've tried changing the setting, but I haven't gotten a perfect match yet. (IF such a thing exists...)
I have looked at the image at three different screens, and two of them are okay, but on one it looks a bit too dark. It's such a difficult thing to try to compensate for!

i know it's because the light chages when you look at the screen at different angles so you never know which one is the true color it sucks but at the same time being able to work anywhere is nice

Not to mention that different screen renders colours differently. I usually try it out on both laptop screen and a stationary screen, but they're different models so it's almost impossible (well, to a small degree of course) to say what it'll look like to someone with a different type of screen.
Being able to work everywhere is good, although I am definitely going to get myself a docking station for my next laptop, so that I can get it connected to a proper screen, mouse and keyboard easily. That way I can work both stationary and still be moveable should I need it.

This looks so cool! I love the colors, and the combination of blonde hair and dark skin just look so striking and amazing. And I love the touch of green eyeshadow, it really adds a nice touch.

Anyway, you did a wonderful job with both the pose and her outfit. She looks awesome and good luck with the contest.
Well, now I'm not alone in not being able to wear high heels (due to flat feet). Man, you should get some Converses if your feet hurt. My Converse All Stars are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had.

Well, Converses are a tad pricey (about $40 last I checked), but maybe you'll luck out like I did and find a pair in a thift store?
Sadly, we don't get real fairy brew in America, we get the 'Absente' crap sadly, but you're welcome.

I've gotten used to buying expensive shoes (so $40 isn't all that bad), because anything less won't do. Shoes and bras are the only two items I will never skimp on when it comes to price and quality!

I really love this. All the colors look awesome together, but I love the skin/hair combo the best, especially with the little bit of green eyeshadow up there that adds to the awesomeness. And that hairstyle is just plain coool.

very nice on the proportions and posing, my dear. but i'm not sure about the shading- i don't think i would have gone quite so dark- she really kinda fades into the backround

Thanks! The shading and colours looks okay on my screen, but I suppose that might be that my screen is a bit on the light side. One of the problems with working digitally, different screen represents colours differently.
