I illustrated the little fic k_haldane wrote for my request!

I rather fought it with last night...I had a bit of paper fail. (marker paper+water colours= fail) At first I was thinking of redoing it altogehter as the colours became rather too odd and expressive again. Then it reminded me of the Van Gogh painting that can be found in the Helsinki Ateneum, I was amused and decided to let it stay like that.

I might have to get other colouring equipment...I'd like my drawings to look more impressionistic perhaps.
Oh and yay, first time I have drawn retired!Holmes and Watson ;D

D'awwwww it's a bee tea! I love how annoyed Watson looks here, with Holmes smiling indulgently at his friend's reaction to this strange intruder (by which I could be talking about Watson OR the bee). Absolutely adorable!

BTW, kävin juuri eilen vastahakoisesti katsomassa tämän uuden Sherlockin ja ajaoittaisesta viihdyttävyydestään huolimatta, jäi mieleen että elokuva ei oikeastaan ollut kovin onnistunut. Se olisi mennyt action-pätkänä ilman viitteitä alkuperäiseen Holmesiin. Joskus "vanhoihin, alkuperäisiin hahmoihin" saa onnistuneesti puhallettua jotain hyvää ja uutta (esim. 007 ja Daniel Craig), mutta tässä mentiin kyllä metsään.
Oletko itse jo osallistunut pyhäinhäväistykseen? Tietenkin olet, ja mitä mieltä olit?

Pitkälti samaa mieltä ollaan täällä. Ei mitään Downey junioria vastaan mutta heppu ei näytä yhtään Holmesilta/käyttäydy lainkaan kuin se Holmes jota mä päivittäin obsessoin, ahheh.
Kaikki se action oli kyl ihan asian vierestä... Holmes taistelee aivoillaan eikä muskeleillaan, vaikka nyrkkeilijä onkin. (Viktoriaaninen herrasmiesnyrkkeily ei kyl mun käsittääkseni oo ihan tuon näköistä!)
Watson sen sijaan oli ihan ookoo mun mielestä. Samoin taustat ja musiikki. Juoni ja Irene Adler/Moriarty jutut oli kyl vähä pöljiä kliseisiä.

Downey Jr.n roolisuoritus on loistavaa Chaplinin elämänkertaleffassa, jos olet nähnyt.
Tämähän oli oikeastaan vain Sherlock Holmesin nimellä myyty toimintapätkä joka yhdisteli kung fua ja jo From Hell'stä tuttua salaseura okkultismia.
