Donβt know. Maybe they just donβt want to many different pony-like characters in the story. Though they did have the gryphon.

I don't know why but I always thought a griffin was like a pegasus with the front of an eagle and the back of lion. The wings were pegasuses. Cause that makes sense. Thank you brain, you never cease to amaze me.
