wow, i love coming to your page. there is always something that i really like. her expression is so brilliant. i never have good enough adjectives for your work! basically i really love it!
the background marks are really interesting, and i keep being drawn back to her face.
it reminds me of that artist, toulouse-lautrec (sp?), i think maybe... i'm not sure why.

i also thought of schiele, even before reading the other comments. and he's my favorite painter, ever. so, good work.

I dont know how I missed this one. great work reminds me of alice neel a little. she also did a lot of women portraiture.

Ciao eliq,
I've been gone for quite awhile on business/vacation here in italy...
your work is remarkable... fantastic stark composition -- the patina of the flesh goes wonderfully with that cool cerulean blue of the background...
and the skewed and tense line, yes, is ver schielian, or munchian, or mosellian for that matter... i like adding "ians" to names -- it adds a "patina" - to overuse another term for you - of intelligence to my breezy observations....
i love those big watery eyes -- they have the starry emptiness of schiele's doll-like girls..
talk soon - arrivederci
d

I cannot believe there are no comments on this. Reminds me very much of Egon Schielle I believe that is his name. Remarkable painting. Love the rigid bony feel.
