Description Erä-Susi huskies in Ruka.

I'm pretty proud of this photo even though there's other dog's butt in the background I tried to crop it off... I hope it doesn't bother much, the dogs simply wanted to stand that way. I'm still learning to use Photoshop (it's just so tricky and I'm a lazy student), so maybe I can do something for it later...

Thanks! Yeah, they really are. I'd also like to own a husky someday, even though they can be quite challenging to train.

Oh I know I've been reading up on them, but I bet a wolf hybrid is a much more of a handful. Mom's and mine's pup is named Thunder, but I would like my own pup someday. Where exactly were those pictures taken of the Huskies.

Yeah, that's true, wolf hybrids are challenging pets and they need determined owners Thunder is a nice name!
At the "husky yard" called Erä-Susi (which means "wilderness-wolf") in Ruka in Northern Finland. They arrange husky safaris (sledding) for tourists in the winter. They have a web page if you're interested: [link]

Yea I'll take a look at that site later. It's so hard to find breeders near where I live. I found a registered breeder in South Dakota, on the Siberian Husky Clubs Of America web site.

I did find the perfect Breeder, but I don't think I'm ready to take one on yet. Maybe in the future. Right now I have my heart set on a wolf hybred, like my moms. We already have four dogs, and the running scares me. I wouldn't want to lose a husky. I hear there isn't really a way to have them be off leash, but still watching them.

Ok. It must take a lot of work to train and take care of 4 dogs, I'm very impressed for your effort!
Yes, huskies are usually masters at running off, it's in their nature. They also prefer being outdoors but they can be taught to live indoors as well. I've heard that it's best to have a big yard with a good fence if you have a husky, malamute or other dog like that.

Yea, our Wolf Hybred (98 percent content) he doesn't run, but we don't really give him the chance either. We sometimes let him out to go to the bathroom off leash, but we make sure he doesn't run off. If he sees something he might, however a few times when he was just a pup I let him out and he took off down the road. I ran after him barfoot in the ditch. I'm suprised I didn't cut my foot on a piece of glass, but ever since he's pretty good with staying in the yard, as long as we're out there with him, if not we leave him on a tie out. Hybrids are extrememly loyal. They consider you one of the pack and they're very protective. I do love huskies, but I'm going to have consider a hybrid or something. Though a wolf hybrid will test you after about four or five years. Just be athorative and show them you're the boss, the alpha wolf. He's a good boy, a big lug who usually sleeps all day, and warm. He growls when the other dogs come around while he's getting attention, but that's just a wolf thing. Some huskies do too.

Ok. That's interesting, I'm always eager to hear people's own experiences I don't have personal experiences of wolf-hybrids, I have just read about them.

Yeah, I know If this had been a full-body picture, then it would have been clear it's not a Siberian (it's too big and long-legged for being one)

Lem0nGin In reply to Elkenar [2010-05-25 18:29:32 +0000 UTC]

No nyt olen kyllä vähän kateellinen D: Täältä on Mansesta pitkä matka juu.. mutta tottamaar jaksan muutaman ristiretken Lappiin asti tehdä huskytarhoille vielä joskus, sellainen huskyrekiajo on pakko kokea.

Elkenar In reply to Lem0nGin [2010-05-25 18:36:56 +0000 UTC]
