This says a bit of something darker and inspires questions. What if the Ice King is far more out of it than we thought? What if there is no true Gunther, but he calls ALL of his penguins that out of senility?

I got feels from your drawing! It had to be a real tough thing for Marceline to deal with, whatever caused it...
I have my suspicions about what happens to Simon that breaks his grip on reality.
I believe that the Lich finds them when Marceline was 10ish and tries to kill them for Simon's Crown of Power. Simon fights with everything he has to protect them, and then after a long battle, the Lich is defeated, and the crown wins, leaving Simon with no memories at all of his time with Marceline... That's probably when Hunson Abadeer finds her too. Maybe the Lich was suppressing Hunson's ability to travel to the earth to get his daughter.

if you watch the episode "Simon and marcy" Simon petrikov called marcy "Gunter" because of the power of the crown possesing him. making him forgetfull but powerful
