The only thing we know is that Toue had something to do with Nine.. Like experiments or something... Maybe something to do with the study of palate, thus the teeth? Sei = eyes = vision. Aoba = voice = audition. Mink's people = smell

Per example, there could be components in the saliva that act like an aphrodisiac, or the teeth could inject some kind of drug like a snake...
Toue was investigating all sorts of mechanisms to hmm interfere with people's will, alas to restrain them from the freedom that allowed them to make unnecessary choices... Light and sounds that kept individuals in a perpetual druggie state - since they got that "eternal night, let's party hard" atmosphere. Clear & pals voices, allmates from hell (yes, I come up with these things during gameplay *snicker*) xD yadda yadda
The idea is that once u understand how these mechanisms work and how they affect people, u may manipulate them to ur advantadge...
Sei and Aoba could mess with people's wills and even get inside their heads (Sei was even more awesome as to be able to do fragmentations of his own self). But the what I like to call "The Tattoo Project" didn't really achieve mind-control, just breaking the rational human part of individuals.
There are infinite possibilities if you use pheromones and human fluids, mixed with certain components. As long as the "host" is immune to divergent components inserted on him, shit can roll xD
(In the "script" of a story I've been planning for.. u know, alternative fanfic of dmmd, I created a character who controlled others through pheromones. It's really cool and makes total scientific sense, since ur pheromones can install fear, tell others I'm the alpha here, mess w/ luxury, etc... & if someone could control it so no smell would reach others, that person would almost become invisible to them. I mean, we see them, but they become part of the scenery.. There's ntg to attract our primal instincts. Of course, we have to skip the basics, we need to give the character more power, like smell puts u in a relaxed state... too relaxed muahahah or in a dazed easily-manipulated state... ALL SORTS OF FUN THINGS! Dunno, like always, when I will put it in proper writing... I always wanna do it, but then I always get so busy and am lazy. So the ideas for stories & scraps from scenes I imagine always lay somewhere getting dusty xD I suck)
