Description Oh yeah, drawing laid-back smoking girls. How original.

I kinda miss that time when I was only drawing stylish girls and designing all kinds of clothes when I was getting started in high school. I feel like I've lost my freedom in the way I draw, now. ...And it actually may be the reason why I didn't draw at all, recently.

The no smoking sign feels like a clock. She seems to hear each Tic and Tac, even a Toe when the ash falls on her shoe. Smoke itself invades the space, it becomes part of it. The harsh geometric strokes of the legs suggest stillness and maybe laziness. The smoke becomes like hope, because it moves freely. It symbolizes freedom, then the no smoking sign becomes irrelevant because it is against that freedom.

if you feel confined, why not draw stylish girls and odd clothes again?

BTW this is still really good

well as I said, I feel like I need to deliver something deeper since people kind of know me for that now. It's not that I really only want to deliver for my watchers, it's just that I've grown into a state of mind that doesn't give me as much freedom, it needs to be good, it needs to be creative, and it doesn't feel so legitimate as it used to be.

it usually happens to me there's a time when you feel that you are drawing the same again and again

but eventually some inspiration will come

I've always said to people when they felt that way that it meant their style was evolving; when you realize how stagnant you are, it means you're trying to go further, in some way.

Thanks for your comment. <3
