Testing watercolors on my new sketchbook (8½x11 again)Also the flower is a test shot, really wasn't sure what was going on, tried some other things... It's a tissue dipped into glue. ...And I came back again with my toothbrush technique, I think the only thing left was the masking tape... But I kind of like the cleanness of the sky.

I love the saturation in the colors and how the lightness fades to dark. You also have some very nice textures going on in the blue.

This is absolutely beautiful. The colors all work so well together that even the contrast seems to blend well..I love the look of peace or calm on her face, especially, it works so well with the tonalities.. The contrast between how smooth her skin looks, too, against the sort of rough [or maybe just not -as- smooth] background, was that on purpose?
I think, though, my favorite part is how the flower still manages to be the focal point even with everything else going on around it, how you mixed the yellow-greens in there without it being too prominant. This is all just gorgeous. I think this is my favorite you've done, now. :]

Thanks Alex, yes the skin was on purpose... I used watercolors for everything else but the face which I used my markers to make it smooth, I definitely wanted something more grungy for the bottom of the picture... And the contrast of the very serene sunset as well.
