Description
One of the least obsessed over and (in my opinion anyway) most compelling characters in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, Mael was a Celtic warrior/druid bequeathed the dark gift because of his striking strength and vitality. Unlike the other vampires, he wasn't a perfect specimen, hooked nosed and heavy browed, with a tendency toward rash action and the use of violence as the primary means of problem solving. However, his fidelity and honesty make him one of my favorites from the series.
