Description A tropical butterfly, isn't it cute? And it's even lifesized!
The wings are glued, the body is sewn from suedine and filled with kapok fibers. Since it's easy to make, I published the pattern here: [link]

Beautiful butterfly, what craftsmanship! And it was so kind of you to make a tutorial as well. That material isn't familiar to me, is it a very short velvet?

I think it's some kind of artificial leather (suede). It is a thin woven fabric, but one side is flocked, so it feel like short velvet. Sorry, I don't know how to describe it better in english...

I think you can use any fabric as long as it's thin and does not fray.
