I use Photoshop. I tried Gimp some time ago and, yes, it wasn't as fluid as Photoshop. Nonetheless, I've seen some people do very good work using that software, so I imagine it may be possible, I don't know, perhaps there's some tutorial out there that explains how to get better results with the brushes on Gimp

To be honest, this was a quick concept, so I was focusing mostly on the colour and the composition... although, I agree it'd look better if I had spent just a little bit more time working on the clouds' material... ^^U

I see all these concept arts everywhere and all you say is that's its quick or something random. We'll I want to learn this! So I'm going to draw a drawing every day for a year and see where it gets me

There's no secret to improve your skills, you just need to be disciplined, work hard and paint every day! And if you feel like you need some guidance, nowadays there's a plenty of tutorials on the internet that might help you!
