Description (2006) 9"x 3", Size 15 seed beads (dark brown iris, matte bone white, silver-lined amber), carved bone beads, brown iris size 11 seed beads, nylon thread.

Another tribal tattoo-inspired bracelet. I like the somewhat spiny pattern and may attempt the design again in some more goth-inspired colors, perhaps a chord of glossy black, matte red or emerald green and silver.

Might be a good project as things take on more of a fall and winter-like feeling instead of the beach and summer colors of dark slick sea-weed, sand and amber....

This has to be one of my favourites out of your bracelets, and will be the first I try to make when I miraculously become a master at the peyote stitch (which isn't happening any time soon). I thought your bracelets were made of leather or something when I first saw them, the patterns seem far too intricate to be made of beads!

Thank you so much! I think it's the size. 15s are the smallest regularly available, so the pattern seems to blend quite a bit.

I tried doing the herringbone stitch, but failed miserably I decided it was because my beads were too small (9/0)... until I looked at the size of yours! I'm going to try it again later *grumble*. I agree about the pattern blending though.

Though I did manage to do the even peyote... with pony beads.

Hey starting with large beads until you got the hang of a stitch is not the worst way to go. I think that's good practice, and then decrease the size slowly...

It just looks ridiculous sat on my desk with a tiny dragon sat next to it. I'm determined to make one sooner or later though. Thanks for the help

I should have you make me a special set of heavy leather gauntlets inscribed with our Clan named and Chief MacPolk on them. I bet you could make a set to die for.

I guess if someone handled the leather work (just don't have the awls and such), I could provide some bead embroidery...

The tibal design is really cool! I'd LOVE to see a gothesque color scheme! Maybe with those bone skull beads that are floating about? Whoo, that would rule!

I love the details you put in these, the larger beads and openings in the design and such. So beautifully unique!
