TEXT: On a hill overlooking the ruins of her once-thriving village, Carol sat slumped forward, her body weighed down by the immense grief that consumed her. Tears streamed relentlessly down her bloodstained face. Her once lustrous brown locks now hung in unkempt disarray, tangled and matted with blood. They clung to her cheeks, damp and sticky.
The left side of her face and neck bore a deeper, darker stain, a reminder of the violence that had befallen her village. Was it her own blood mingling with the tears, or the blood of her loved ones, friends, and family members? It no longer mattered. The distinction between was meaningless
Only a few hours earlier, a horde of monsters had descended upon Carol's village like a storm. They had ravaged everything in their path, leaving nothing but death and destruction in their wake. The creatures had feasted upon the inhabitants, tearing apart anything they could find.

In the onslaught, Carol had lost everything—her family, her friends, the life she had once known was gone. She was left utterly alone, a lone figure amidst the ruins, bearing witness to the decimation of her world. As she looked downward, her eyes once again welled up with tears, the weight of her loss threatened to consume her once more.

Each tear that cascaded down her bloodstained cheeks carried with it the weight of her sorrow. The anguish that surged within her found release in the sound of her screams, echoing through the desolation. "Why!" she cried out to the empty air, her voice filled with raw desperation. "Why us? With one last final weary smile and one more ragged breath, Carol closed her eyes.
