to notice how hands, fingers etc are posed. I spend quite some time on that to get
it right.
I actually use XPS to pose my models then I export it in to 3ds Max and render it with
mental ray. For Zae's bracelets I used a metallic material.
See, when I first started using XPS I didn't even know how to use it properly, I still
have no idea what render groups even are! What are those?

"hand-person" sounds funny and quite on the mark here! 
About render groups: in brief these are data in the Xnalara/xps models that tell the program what textures to use for each mesh, whether they are transparent and how they will look depending on what textures are used. Eg some groups support specular maps, others have emissive or environmental maps and others just diffuse + normal. You can tweak them to alter the looks of your model in xps, but if you render in another software you will not need that.

Tbh honest I worked faaaar too long on the lighting to get it right.
I think most of Sunday was just me working on lighting, test rendering, adjusting the lights, test rendering...you know the drill.
It took forever, but then the post edits on the other hand are very few.
