Now this camouflage made me think... Does the Tau see the same colors as humans? What if they can't see green, for example, and camouflage their troops with grey painting for a jungle operation? What if they see green as pink, for example?

Or you could think from the other direction and presume the Tau know how their enemies perceive colours and use this knowledge to camouflage their vehicles. After all you don't need to hide from your own side, just the enemy.

Getting a bit deep now

Hahahahah, and if there is Tau, Eldar and Humans in the battlefield? And each one sees a different spectrum of light? XD

Lets say that we see green, Tau see blue and Eldar see orange (extreme I know).

Then we see a green tree, the Tau see a blue tree and Eldar see an orange tree so....

We can carry it over to the camouflage scheme. Each race would see the colours they would see in their natural light wave length and the cam. would work for any race... as long as the cam. was relevant to the location and not green in a snowscape.

See what I mean? It should be irrelevant what colour you see as long as it blends into the background.

I think it makes a sort of sense

Hummmm... I was thinking in something like what happens with scorpions. They are usually quite well camouflaged, usually being black (and hunting at night) or sand-yellow (and living in sandy environments). We humans and most animals have a difficult time trying to spot them... but in the UV wavelength the scorpions shine bright blue, destroying their disguise. Any spider or other animal that can see UV can see scorpions as shiny blue spotlights anywhere they try to hide

Also some snakes can "sense" infrared wavelength (not by their eyes, but with a special organ), so they can spot almost any animal in the grass, no matter his actual "color" in our RGB wavelength or any camouflage pattern they may have...

Thanks

I was sorely tempted by a tiger shark over the weekend but managed to resist. I have so much to paint!

Not had a chance to use it yet. But the weaponry should be strong enough to do some real damage

At FW list you could get 2. I got mine second hand for the price of a sunshark then stripped the old paint and repainted it.

This fella ain't as big as one could expect, is he?

I think you've done a really good work with the painting. +1 for the burn parts of the cannon and the dusty areas.
