Description Nikola Tesla, played by Jonothan Young, from Sanctuary.

Finally finished! This one took around 30+ hours, and most of that time was spent on the hair. That hair's a bitch :/. And I'm still not entirely happy with it, either.

Opinions and ideas welcome . Always happy to learn new tricks of the trade.

It's a very nice sketch.

I really like the show, but I'm also a big fan of the REAL Tesla and I'm a bit disappointed in what they did to this character.

From what I've read, Nikola Tesla was known to have fairly strong aversions to then common, everyday acts of personal contact (similar to comedian Howie Mandel)...
He would NOT shake hands.
This single point is what started him at odds with both Edison & JP Morgan - both of whom thought less of any man who didn't have a decent grip.

With that in mind, I think NT might be more than tad upset seeing himself being portrayed as a bloodsuckin Vamp.

its almost perfect but i will say his hair line looks a bit to rounded and foreheads a bit tall but it because of hair as i said before other than that

He has such amazing bone structure...his face is a pleasure to draw every time, fantastic job on my lovely Tesla!

Consider the following as a Critique!

The lines work really well and the hair is perfect (hair is my nemesis, especially his!). I feel there should be an eyeshine in the right eye. It seems a little flat. The left eye, the pupil should be as dark as the other. Other than that, the line work is amazing, the shading is unusual to me, but works so well! Fantastic job!

Thank you so much for your critique! I don't often get people giving me tips so it's great to hear what you've spotted . I have a habit of leaving my drawings out in an easily-visible area for a few days after completion so I can pick up on little things, and I've noticed a slight problem with his nose/top lip, and also as you've said the eye-shine. Hadn't noticed the pupil, but I'll get right on to that .

Thanks again, I appreciate your help! And yes, he does have a very interesting face to draw, and that hair, while annoying, was also kind of a fun challenge. I think I have a little way to go yet before I master it .

it looks so right, but in some way wrong @_@ i dont understand. its like the uncanny valley in pencil. *squints*.............*backs up*.... . . . . . . . . . *shrugs*

Hahaha, it is wrong in some ways, I've been trying some new techniques on my recent drawings and it has affected the perspective a little. But thanks for your comment, I'm glad you like it .
