In my opinion, yes, it is better to hang on.
Because it's not just about the hanging. That's just the part we notice most, because it's the hardest. But there's little things that get overshadowed by it that are worth hanging on for.

Her expression isn't really one of fear. At most she looks mildly concerned. She looks like she is thinking hard about how to get out of the situation. There might even be a little bit of pity for the creatures in her expression.
I'm not sure how I derive that from stick figures. It is very well done though.

thanks for sharing your thoughts. yeah, people seem to contemplate her expression quite a bit. one friend said, "it doesn't even really look like she wants to be rescued. like she's looking down there going, 'they don't look so bad.'" interesting....
i drew a lot of different faces on her. it was the one that looked the most real to me.

Also, the ones below who are angry are angry for a reason. Generally, I dont waste anger on people I don't care about. If I am going to get angry at someone, its because I give a shit about them and I care about the decisions they make.
