I ADORE this!!! it is one of the best Elisabeth cosplay I have seen.. I just wish I could see it in person.
I am hoping you will not mind my asking... I am working on an Elisabeth of my own.. just the Mizu version gown ( I admit to being Mizu obsessed... even if I lack someone to dress as Der Todd) Did you draft your down pattern? Modify an existing one?
Did you use a hoop and a crinoline? or just a multi layer skirt over a hoop to hide the lines? Just crinoline would have been MASSIVELY heavy and hot.. Any advice would be soo welcome. I do have experience w/ renaissance/Elizabethan era costuming

Thank you! It came together really easy and I love how ti turned out!
Well, that depends. I'm going to need a few more details I think. Where are you located? When do you need it? are you wanting a tailor made dress from scratch? are you wanting to borrow mine? and what is this film?

i didnt know yours was available to borrow! id love to see a few more pics of it if i could.
i wouldnt need it for another month or two - its for an independent film project set in the south during the mid 1800s. im located in new england. if you had any more petticoats, would i be able to put them on with your empress dress?

I didn't say it was borrowable! lol. I just wasn't clear what you were after.
I can guarantee that it won't fit what ever actress you want to put it on...moden figures and my corseted firgure are very different from each other.
mid 1800's. So 1850? my dress is 1865, believe me those two sillouettes are very diferent! Skirts were not as wide in the 1850's as they were in the 1860's. My empress dress had a circumrence capacity og over 300 inches. My hoopskirt and petticoat bring it out to 168. It has a train the is about five feet long. Also, I stand 5'11" and have a very long torso/legs. It will drown anyone that doesn't have my proportions.
What exactly are you looking for? If (very big if) it works out that your actress will be ok in one of my dresses, where is this are? I would have to be with the dress. First of all I have leanred from experiance that most people don't know how to put people into my dresses (to much period correctness I guess...hmm). and these are very exoensive pieces to trust to strangers.
IF you want something made that will fit the person you are dressing, then we can talk that direction. Sorry if I seem a little short, this is kind of sudden, lol.
How did you find me, if I may ask? It looks like you haaven't been a member on here for very long.

honestly? i typed in "poofy dress" and you came up with a bunch of others lol.
im glad youre taking this so seriously...my actress stands 6'0 with heels on - so that may actually work.
you know more about this than me, so if you say 1860s skirts were wider, then i'd like to have an 1860s skirt made. id want to be with you every step of that way on that. is there any way to see more pics of the dress ure wearing?
thanks so much!

I only wished I had Tenshi's camera for this shot. She and Sam spoil me when they give me high tec equipment to use. It was worth getting on the ground, near the deep end of the pool in my princess dress for this shot.

Thank you! The over all costume came together really easy and yet, it's one of my favorites!
It's definitely fun to pose in. I feel like i'm back in my wedding dress...though my wedding dress was smaller then this...lol.
Thank you!

Welcome. I can see why.. It's so elegant. I used to dress in the antique clothing that was in my grandmother's house.. I loved the way I felt in them.
