Desmond is a kind and clever young man who is outgoing and quite friendly, and is generally polite to anyone else. He treats others with genuine care and compassion. He is also said to be quite lovable due to his short stature, delicate looks, or overall benevolent nature (for the most part). He can be a bit of a cutie-pie sometimes. He is also quite funny, and often cracks jokes to lighten other's moods or just being sarcastic. His sense of humor is said to be that of a "30-year-old's". When it comes to closer friends and family, he is very protective of them, and is more willing to risk himself for their sake.

Desmond is seen as an effeminate person, either due to his short height or small build, he is often a target of teasing and/or bullying because of this. Though despite this, he is generally unaffected by such treatment. His effeminacy often makes him not suitable for sports back then. He is also mischievous, often teasing others in a playful manner, especially Helena, whom he flirts gets frisky with a lot.

One the downside, Desmond is a bit of a scheming weasel, often secretly planning something that's either for selfish goals or overall amusement. This is his usual response to bullying from peers. Due to this he can be a liar sometimes. However, for the worse, he can be very violent when provoked physically, and will not hesitate to fight back despite his small size. He at one point broke his arm after punching someone so hard. He is also vulgar and will drop the F bomb when he feels like it. While rare, it is often unexpected. Other than that, he is opportunistic and rebellious, and would sometimes defy his parents just for something small, and is quite cunning at doing so.

After being possessed by the Demon, he has become a bit tad harsher, being more gloomy and aggressive. He has developed a ruthless, controlling, and hostile personality that has worsened his violent tendencies and foul language. When he was fully taken over, he transformed into a fully evil tyrant, lacking any moral sense and being a complete narcissist. However, he always tries his best to suppress the Demon's influence in him. This also makes him much closer to holy items like bible and rosaries than he is before in his life.
