I was drawing this at work during break the other week. I had ideas in mind to do a story that is exclusive from the ASHWORTH: Tales of the Cursed Wombat series, so that I can alternate and experiment with more than one idea in one shot.For this story I was probably thinking that the setting would be of the Victorian era or the Resonance period. The theme I still haven't figured out but I may probably want to explore the life of a privateer or a rescue/protection squad for the noble kingdom.
The characters involved will be the fox character I used in GRAND HUNTER - Duke Vienna, and his crew (including Salah). Should I find the right story, setting and theme I'll start to establish new names for the characters.
Starting with the character you see above I want him to be of English background mixed with Spanish/Italian ethnicity. I'll probably call him Alexander because I want the main character to treat justice as his bread and butter. I found the name on the site that helps decode the meaning behind many of the popular Spanish names used in real life and in literature: [link]
ALEJANDRO: Spanish form of Latin Alexandrus, meaning "defender of mankind."
And if you're wondering where that scar came from, well you'll just have to find out in future won't ya?

Yeah look who is! That's nice to know that some characters from the 2nd original series is staying as another entity but with similar design!
So you are thinking in an Alexander's kind of name, right? In portuguese, it's Alexandro. Latin was the original language of both portuguese, spanish and italian, so chosing the ancient name will refer all of them.
Anyway good job.

wow! simply wonderful, I think the name Alexander suits him so well... and the scar could be an honour medal of justice that distanted to stay on his chest to say that he is "defender of mankind."
the background is sunset or sunrise I think, your mixture of colour and the way you shaped the clouds is fasinating!( I still can't draw them well.... 
thinking about that era you put the story on is amazing. specially if there was a person like Newton explores the gravity! LOL
it's a strange idea but it would be cool if you add couple of eastern charchters for example of arabians or persian people. if you find it intresting I'm ready to give you some info about it.

Interesting how you mentioned of Eastern characters that hail from the Arabian or Persian provinces. That sounds like a pretty neat idea and one that you may very well see in the graphic novel one day.

I think it would look so cool since it is an era that is freedom from middle age strange believes and an era that they liked to have some connection with those country in order to improve their self. and specially on science... specially when they tried to learn alchemy from them and the result which was creation of magic.
since I'm from these countries ( my parents are Arabian and I borne in Iran) I can give you a lot of help in case you need.

The details on this has to be the biggest strength of this picture. It really make his body stand out, and the coloring and shading do a great job of adding to the details too. I really like how his face and eyes came out along with his facial expression, and the background came out very good too.

I'm just asking, does the light come from bottom? I'm not sure whether it's background light or light from the foreground.

Secondary light source I guess. XD It's more of an experimental piece since I was reading up on 'Digital Artists' mag under the section of lighting and shading. I've added in front an overlay layer to provide that 'secondary lighting' you see.

Well, Duke has definitely developed since his last appearance, hasn't he! I love how you added more detail to his fur for a rougher appearance.
I also noticed that you described him with a Spanish/Italian ethnicity. Looks like my Duke impressions have influenced his actual design! ^_^

to me he look sad to see his town get destoryed, he may seem emotionless but to me he is sad inside :3 what? that how i felt when i saw this wonderful pic :3

I still think Duke Vienna fits him, merely because 'Duke' symbolizes royalty as far as England goes, but I do get that you want something with a Spanish/Italian sort of sense.
Part of me hopes that you'll bring back different characters from Grand Hunter for this new project, but I suppose we shall have to wait and see what you have in store.

I'm pretty much trying to focus on Youtube stuff for the months to come. When I'm done with it I can move back to digital art and comics.

(he is about the only thing i like about the comics!) he inspired me to make Dark! (my version of dark super sonic) anyways all the best can't wait to see how it comes out p.s. hope you don't lose your mind before it's done!

Things going alright back here and I had so much fun last weekend going with my friends up to london, going to the event known as the MCM Expo. I brought so much stuff that at times I couldn't carry so many bags! lol! Besides that, I think I have improved my drawings and comic like pages a bit, since my taking more time on them.
So what about you? Anything new at your end?

Ah the MCM Expo! Apparently some of the TSS people went there this year! I'm sure you may have caught up with some of them. ^^
Life so far down under has been bloomin' fantastic. I'm currently working on my next SONIC UNIVERSE Animated Adaptation video... If you haven't watched the first one then go check it out - it's based off the Silver Saga!

Nice drawing of Alejandro, and the scar vaguely reminds me of Scourge. The background has a very nice color complementary contrast, which it creates either a day or night setting (I really don't know the background, I just guessed). Cool (& probably sexy) chest BTW. Only a day away, or less, before the daylight savings (one hour back) arrive as a last reminder.

Thanks! I really like the colours of the sky/clouds in the BG, it really does compliment with one another (thanks to the colour wheel I bought from the US!)
But yeah I'm slowly doing research and realise that foxes/coyotes are, in mythology, a trickster, god, goddess, spirit, man, woman, or anthropomorphic animal who plays tricks or otherwise disobeys normal rules and conventional behavior.
Hmm... I'll use that concept to aid me in my quest to find an interesting story for this character.

Yeah, the color wheel really helps a lot when using and understanding color, which BTW I had to learn a lot of color vocab. @ school. BTW, what kind of color wheel did you get from the US?

Ooo nice! Cool to know that you've learnt some colour theory - it really helps doesn't it? I got the simple $5USD colour wheel that is the size of your hand. I got it at a craft store in Vienna Beach, Los Angeles.
