The backgound is really amazing.
A lot of nice details and interesting architecture. And even in back where there are less details, there are cool parts. I really like the bottom half too. Feels mysterious and kind of eery.

A cool character. I like his sense of style. >u<
His fur looks great too, haha~. And great work on the pose/action. His walk feels so calm and confident, and purposeful. More like a stride, haha.

The coloring is fantastic. I think the buildings have lovely coloring, but th coloring on Rei is amazing. In general, it creates an interesting mood.

I think the background looks really kool "half assed" it gives it a foggy and mysterious atmosphere to the picture and i can see it would have taken extreme patience to be able to do the whole background in complete detail ^^'

The background may be only have assed but I feel that the simplicity of the colors really helps the focus to be brought to the subject of the image. Wonderful character design, btw. Overall it's a beautiful picture.
