In memory of Ziggy, who left this world on August the 2nd.

Ziggy was an old cat, and he was always very small, with a few health issues; He had misshapen teeth, which gave him a hard time to eat solid food, and he had cat coryza, which was making him often sick. So we were used to see him losing weight and sleeping all day long. But recently, it was far more noticeable. He wouldn't eat anymore, and was losing a ton of weight. After a visit to the vet, they realized his kidney stopped working. So we had to put him to sleep.

Ziggy has been in our lives for a very long time. He was born in our barn, with his sister Shakira and his brother Leo. Like all the other wild cats near our house, we tried to domesticate them, but Ziggy was the most trusting and affectionate out of the three kittens. He actually tried to get into our house by himself. So we took him in, and he had been by our sides ever since.

Ziggy was a very special cat. He's always looked young because of his side. He didn't know how to meow, he was chirping instead. He loved being on my brother's shoulders. He always wanted a little bit of milk every morning and evening. He was always sick, so he sneezed a lot. And he would sneeze on you if he wanted your attention. Even though he was small and thin, the other cats respected him. He was the patriarch of the street. All the cats who tried to get into a fight with him ended up backing away. He was always very calm and affectionate. A true little gentleman.

I drew him as a human a few months ago, I wanted to draw him again, for his final goodbye.

Thank you for being by my side as I grew up. I'm gonna miss you dearly, Zig-Zig. I love you.
