This is Dusty, the infamous owner of "Dusty's Attic", an antique store in my town. This painting does not do him justice when it comes to showing how portly he is.Details: Prismacolor pencils on light umber Art Spectrum colourfix paper.

He is magnificent! It's funny how many businesscats put on a lot of weight. I knew one in New Orleans who owned a needlecrafts shop and he must've been thirty pounds if he was an ounce, big black and white tom who looked like a grand Dutch financier. It takes a big cat to handle a business, I guess.
Maybe this is what they mean by "fat cat of the establishment."
Beautiful artwork, and you show his interested expression so well. He's inteligent, alert and gorgeous. Those relaxed white paws really say it all.

Oh yes, Dusty greets everyone who walks in the door. Some people come in just to visit with Dusty rather than to shop.
If there was such a thing as a "Diva" cat, Dusty would be one for sure!

Wow! I was immediately drawn to his eye. It's so clear and precise and lovely, and that made me think and believe instantly that there's this whole other part that we aren't seeing but he is.
There's some other charm to this picture that I can't put my finger on, but I like it very much.

I love the transparent look to his eye! I noticed how cats eyes get that appearance when viewed from the side, I would imagine it's difficult to capture convincingly on paper. He's lovely!
