I just love the interpretations people have of a 1984 AU. It has such DARK potential. I've seen Alfred the manipulative mastermind, the slave of young nation Oceania, but I think that being a lost soul like this is the most sad, and kind of how I thought of it happening.
I never thought of Alfred going blind. That's... pretty clever. Though I also expect him to be dressed in one of the two variants of overalls of the Party, since as far as I know they're given Party members in 1984 are given nothing else to wear. Though, I'm kind of wondering what's going on; is he fighting at war, or back home just wandering the streets?
Poor Alfred... in a perpetual state of spiraling into amnesia. Though, I'd like to say that they constantly alter the past, not just erase everything before the Revolution, so any memories he does have will be constantly changed and altered.
And correction on what Oceania was made up of; it was made up of Airstrip One/the British Isles and the Americas (so Latin and South America as well), but also Southern Africa, a lot of Pacific Islands, Australia, and I'm pretty sure New Zealand.

Oh god D: As big a 1984 fan as I am, this idea never occurred to me. Uwaah, poor America... poor all the countries...
