well.. it aint the moon but i know.. it looks more like the moon to me as well since the sky is all black. but getting such bright clouds with just moonlight is extremely difficult if not plain impossible.

I personally don't think that's impossible... So that really was a solar ecclipse? If so then it looks pretty strange I actually think it's an interesting shot, that's why I'm curious

well.. since you've put it this way, I'll try to capture the moon with clouds next time I see a view like this it might be easier in HDR

and yes, it IS the solar eclipse. Its a tragedy a complete eclipse was not visible in my country.. but I hear the next eclipse is scheduled for 9 July 2009. I'm so looking forward to it

You know, while I was still in college I used to live in a kibbtuz (it's a kind of village that its life is based on shared property). And I often walked around it by night, which was really the best time for that, and I've seen such sky quite alot. Maybe not with exactly the same contrast but still it was really bright. Also considering there wasn't too much lighting apart from that. I wish I had a good camera then...

Lol, I wish you luck capturing it the next time It definitely would be great XD And I'd love to see a shot with the moon as well

i'm glad i could capture the solar eclipse. it wouldnt have been possible without the clouds. my solar filter (homemade ) wasnt enough

i meant i didnt use any expensive lens or anything. just got a piece of uncut sunglasses lens and i placed it in front of the camera. worked decently enough with the clouds.
