Description
Reed bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) is small european bird from buntings family (Emberizidae), closely related to yellowhammer and others very similar species. This bird is very common in every place where tall grass or reed bed are present. For breeding it choses places near water (lake, streams, rivers etc) and in these places it's easy to see the birds or hear their very characteristic song and other voices.
The bird appearance is also unmistakeable. The male has dark brown or black head with white "mustache", light belly, white nape and brownish back with darker stripes. The female is more greyish, especially on head, bud she also is recognizable because of those stripes on back and brown tail with white edges.
