It's amazing what you did with her expression. (I don't see this much expression in the original photo.) In my interpretation, she's watching her abuser with caution because she can tell that he's about to hurt her (again, perhaps). Or she was getting dressed when a man walked in and now he is staring at her in a threatening way. She's afraid, but she's trying to stay cool so as to not enrage him. (You can tell I have issues, lol.) Maybe you'd prefer I stop rambling and stick with the usual comments, lol... I love it. Very nice work! I'm amazed at how much it looks like the original photo, except that I feel you've added more depth of feeling to it.

it's always interesting how people feel differently about a painting, how they interpret it
I actually prefer more personal comments then the usual "Wonderful! I love it!"

That's good (and thanks for letting me know!), since I tend to say whatever is on my mind, but I always hate to be that one weirdo who rambles on and on when everyone else is posting one-liners.

the one thing about one liners is that the asnwer must be very short too, which becomes very repetitive and robotic. So sometimes I prefer to have a bit of conversation instead

Lovely! One-liners bore me, but I guess most people are afraid to say more for fear of appearing stupid. Or maybe they simply have nothing more to say.

I love the way her lips are parted ever so slightly - for some reason it seems to really bring out the expression in her eyes for me.

Excellent work! Simply stunning

It's an excellent likeness, beautifully portrayed.

The only issue I have is that the left cheek looks as though it's about to poke through the skin at the hairline, and possibly this is due to the darkness/harshness of the shadow just under there going down towards the mouth and skin? I think she needs softening down a little, particularly also in the areas of the mouth and eyes - but those are just the things that struck me, and may not accord with your own style?

since I edited the contrast of the photo, that might be the problem. I don't have the picture here so I'm not sure the colors and contrast in this photo are correct Once I bring the picture home I will see if I have to make changes to the photo to make it more resembling to the original picture.

Yes of course, it could be the lighting etc. when you took the photo of it - I forgot about that

EmberRoseArt In reply to Kencho [2010-11-25 19:30:41 +0000 UTC]

has probado pintar al oleo?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kencho In reply to EmberRoseArt [2010-11-25 19:41:14 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EmberRoseArt In reply to Kencho [2010-11-25 19:45:09 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kencho In reply to EmberRoseArt [2010-11-25 20:51:13 +0000 UTC]
