Description
This is the character Unagi from Mario 64 (I don't know if he was in the DS version of the game.)
It has been one of my all time favorite monsters from Mario 64 and I've spent hours playing around with it but also trying not to drown or touch him cause it hurts you if you do. The star on his tail is the star Mario has to chase it to grab the star in the level "Can the eel come out to play?" Some people think he's scary but I think he's cute, just look at that smile.

I tried a lot of different ideas with this drawing like the watery reflection on its skin so hopefully it'll make it look more 3D. Also the rays of light shining through the surface. I don't draw water very often at all so hopefully the depth and everything worked out right. The faint water on the top is a modified texture from CGtextures.com. Also a lot of "glow" effects were used for some parts of this which I NEVER use cause I think it's cheating in Photoshop but it looks cool.

In the game Unagi is more of a red color tinted with pink like maroon but I think this SUPER red looks better on it. The colors might be too dark and just kind of made it ending up looking like the demon cobra that is Jafar in Disney's Aladdin.
