I liked everything and was impressed of how perfectly everything was fitting together. It was such a nice manip, with no too obvious seams or issues with colours and values. The blurry edges of the architecture fading into nature somehow added a dreamy atmosphere. I believed what you were showing the viewer. Then I scrolled down to the boy...
This work is so amazing, I am finding it hard to believe that the boy is out of perspective, as everything else is suiting so well, but he is. When I saw the boy, all of that magical illusion you created was gone
For a while, I didn't know what to suggest in order to avoid such an issue. Ultimately I decided that to show is better than to tell. I figured out the various vanishing points and horizon lines of the floor, the boy, and the book, as it seems to have an individual horizon line of its own that I didn't see by merely looking at the image. Here is what I ended up with: [link]
There are three objects that are supposedly parallel (the boy and the book lying on the floor would have a hard time not lying parallel to the floor). Therefore, they should have the same horizon line (the vanishing points can be different points on that line, though).
I hope you can see now what the problem is. And I really hope that you're not mad at me, for pointing this out. I'm just trying to help with a fundamental topic of art that I myself have trouble with, too. And I don't think I would have bothered to find the vanishing points if I didn't like the overall image.
Please keep perspective in mind when doing manips, and I'm sure your art will be even greater.

The perspective of the boy was indeed a bit of a struggle (mainly because of the pose), but I thought I did a good job.
Perspective can be difficult, but I always try to have it as correct as possible.
You can always learn!
I will keep your feedback in mind and might take another look at the creation in 2013.
