Description I FINALLY FINISHED IT. This thing is 22"x30" (biggest paper I've ever worked on... also most expensive... $8 a sheet, argh!). I did a light watercolor base and then drew everything with Prismacolor colored pencils over it.

Basically, it depicts cowboys in a cretaceous environment. It's intentionally full of unlikelihoods (such as that little fence being enough to contain dinosaurs) and outrageous colors (hey, I can color them whatever I want, nobody knows what color dinosaurs were).

The saddled and bridled ones are tyrannosauruses, the horses of the scene. I based their colors off of the Longiserpa . Who wouldn't love to ride a tamed tyrannosaurus?

The green and yellow ones are triceratops, the cattle of the scene. The one in front that's being branded is a calf, otherwise it would be much bigger.

The purple and red raptors are the velociraptors, the herding dogs of the scene. They're even wearing collars. I was debating between drawing them with the feather layout seen here, and nearly covering them with feathers. But I tried drawing both on another piece of paper and this way looked much better.

The orange and purple flying ones are pteranodons. The big one between them is a quetzalcoatlus.

The inspiration for this drawing... was prettymuch a question of what kind of fun fantasies might kids have? Riding a t-rex seemed like a good one to draw, and it went on from there. It's cowboys gone way back in time.

The photo is pretty blurry. Maybe someday I'll take a better picture and re-upload this so you can see the details better.

I'm glad it's done. I've been working really hard to get it done in time for the student art gallery.

This must have been so much work, but the result is amazing!
I can just see those Tyrannosauruses lined up outside a tiny saloon.

Haha, that's an idea. I didn't include such a thing though, because the idea is that the cowboys went back in time. I guess they could have built one, though.

The only way this could be cooler is if it were ninja-pirates riding the dinosaurs.

Mm. I'll find out on Tuesday what made it and what didn't. But I doubt my two best pieces would be rejected.

You should see it in person, the colors look far better. Photos and scans of Prismas really lose their depth.

Awesome. Totally awesome. I love the colors! They're so unexpected it immediately draws your eye (unexpected, but who the heck can know what colors they were?) And so fun! What a great fantasy this is!
The muscles on the dinosaurs too are phenomenal. You never cease to amaze with your details.

Naah... there really isn't that much detail. If it were detailed, I'd have done the skin texture. But that would have been murderously time-consuming and irritating.

That's a good point, by your standards, this is very tame.

...I need to study your art I think. I could learn a lot from you. TEACH ME MASTER! XD
