Description Slash pines, or maybe longleaf? I'm not sure!

Plein-air painting in the Florida panhandle. 1.5 hours, watercolor and gel pen on Fluid Easy-Block paper.

If I could go back and do things differently... I took a slightly gouache-y approach to this. Redo would ask for more color mixing on the page and more blocking out of large shapes, rather than successive little areas.

it sure does - I distinctly remember getting stung by nettles whilst visiting an old, abandoned zoo that was on an island in Lake Okeechobee. Good times.
