Okay, okay, I know...sketches should be put in the scraps section. But even though this piece is still an unfinished sketch, I believe it still belongs in my gallery. To see a drawing in the middle stages is just as important and beautiful as a completed one, so that's that.
Done in 0.5 mechanical pencil & enhanced on the computer so that you can see the lines clearly. As per usual, I tend to take a sketch like this straight to completion, starting at one area (probably the eye) and working my way out and around it - starting off lightly on the shading, and just continuously layering darker until it's done. Because of that method, I personally don't tend to use my eraser much.
Anyways, with that out of the way, here is probably my one and only animal picture you'll ever get to see (unless I draw a new one of course ^_^). Drawn from a painting or a photograph (I can't remember which) that I found in a calendar, for no particular reason aside from the fact that I love horses....There's been inches cut off on all sides, but what can you do when the pic's too big for the scanner?
