Soviet Union issue gas masks have Formaldehyde in the rubber and Asbestos in the filter. You might survive the gas attack, but die latter from Mesothelioma Lung Cancer.

This is awesome too! Gas-masks are cool anyways, but the way the flower is held in front of the mask and how pretty much everything in the picture but the gas-mask is colorful and not creepy, it just strikes me as funny. It seems like an ironic combination.

Thanks. I've never really come up with an appropriate description for it, although it always evokes in my mind some kind of post-apocalyptic scenario where, in the midst of so much destruction, the smallest beauties still survive. Is it hopeful, or merely ironic?

I'm not too sure in all fairness. But then again, I'm still to start a proper collection of those. I have used one that wasn't mine for a photoshoot, and would definitely enjoy to work with them again.
