So this painting actually has a bit of a story. I did a sketch a while ago trying to figure out how to describe my feelings on depression and the sketch was of a guy who had roses basically growing out of one eye and growing from his chest and I kind of liked the symbolic representation the roses and thorns had to depression. Yesterday I had a pretty bad anxiety attack and had a bad breakdown and this morning my eyes were horribly swollen and I had a huge headache for the rest of the day but my mind went back to that sketch and the symbolism of roses to emotional pain so I started working on this piece and I'm pretty pleased and surprised with how it turned out.

If I could've done something different then I wouldn't have messed with the eyes so much because it kind of made her face look weird. I'm really happy with the painting style I've been trying out, though, and I also used a pre-made palette this time (which I rarely do) and I was really happy and surprised by how the colors turned out. I wasn't thinking about using blue for the flowers until I chose a pre-made palette. I'm still struggling with skin colors, though, and figuring out how to get a good, natural, dark skin color. I still need a lot of practice.

Overall it was really a lot of fun and I hope y'all like it.
