Description

I decided to make a Major Gilbert to go along with my last post of Violet Evergarden!! I'm not quite as happy with this one as I am with the last one but I feel like that's because I was having a lot of issues with Gilbert's hair. XD; I remember now why I have few characters where their hair is slicked back. Maybe the more I do it the easier it'll be to draw. I'm REALLY happy with the hydrangeas, though. I thought while making them "I want Gilbert to have a green flower- naturally green!" and then I thought of hydrangeas and how they're green but they also have blue and PURPLE in them! And it really depends on where they're planted! So I loved the symbolism of it all~

I also looked up (well googled, so I don't know how correct it is) the flower meaning of hydrangeas and violets. Hydrangeas are "a heartfelt emotion" or "gratitude" while violets are "purity" and "devotion." I thought they were both very fitting.
