History:
Phoebe is the only child of two busy-body parents who, more often than not, were always out of town because of their work. Sometimes they didn't return for months- and when they did, it would only be for a short while. The first few years after she was born, her mother had decided to stay and take care of her (albeit very reluctantly) and through the course of that time, the young girl experienced a very normal childhood. She was a very happy child and always sought her parent's affection-- which they did give....but not without a hint of remorse. Both parents were very competitive business workers and to them, their career was much more important than taking care of a family. In fact, they never even planned to have children, so to them Phoebe was nothing more than...
"...an accident." she heard her father say one night when they thought she was a sleep.
At that time she didn't exactly know what that meant-- but she had a feeling deep deep inside that she had an idea. Downcast eyes. Strained smiles. Hesitant hugs. Some part of her had known. But who could blame a child for craving for her parent's affection?
When she turned 9, her parents returned to their daily (or monthly) habits- diving back into work and leaving her alone. "They're doing this for me. For my future." she'd tell herself. Ever since that night, Phoebe had told herself she will make them proud one way or another, that she shouldn't be a burden anymore. Since she was practically alone most of the time Phoebe became very independent, from learning how to clean, to cooking meals-- she became very adept at taking care of herself. She also studied studiously—even becoming part of the honor roll. All this so that she can impress her parents; so that she can proudly say she was their daughter. At one point though, the young girl had unconsciously started thinking, there's no room to be a child anymore. I have to grow up.
Which is something she can barely do since she has always been a sissy. With that plus the fact that she was very tiny and that she had no friends, it was no surprise Phoebe became subjected to bullying at a very young age. This pretty much crushed what little self-confidence she had left in her whole being. To her, living was a nightmare-- the few things driving her is her desire to be accepted by her mom and dad.
The other thing that made it bearable was when she visited the Amphitheater after school. At first she only went there because of a required play they needed to watch for school, but after watching the lead actress perform Phoebe was instantly captivated. At some point she met the actress, a beautiful Milotic, after many visits—to her relief she turned out to be a very charismatic and kind lady, even going as far as encouraging her to go after what she wanted which was to act, despite the young girl’s mental chides that it was not happening.
At the age of 12, the young girl was going home from school—when she was suddenly cornered by a group of thugs. Now it was one thing to be bullied by school mates, but another thing to have to deal with delinquents, to say she was terrified out of her wits was an understatement and she was pretty sure she was crying so much she’d pass out. To her surprise another person had come along and beat them all up before they actually hurt her- and this person…was equally as scary (if not scarier) She later found out his name was Alphonse and that they were neighbors in the same apartment building. Despite being scared of him as well, she was more grateful than she was afraid—so she made it a point to make it up to him. This pretty much involved following him around, making him food, leaving him bandages for his wounds, the works. He never liked it, in fact he often told her to leave him alone but she just couldn’t bring herself to do it. After a while this all just became routine for the two of them- secretly caring for one another, even if one was grouchy and the other was a crybaby; it was a strange friendship but nonetheless, Phoebe had accepted Alphonse to be an important person in her life. But then the accident happened.
One day she was surprised to get a call from the hospital that a friend of her’s was rushed to the ER—and she only had one friend; Alphonse. When she got there she was near-hysteric when the situation was explained to her- stabbed on his left side- no more was the facade of maturity she had tried to build. Now there was just a 16 year old girl crying, desperately praying that her friend, who may as well be her brother, to survive and live. And thank Arceus he did. During the course of his recovery, the young girl always visited, and that event pretty much made it sink in on just how much she valued Alphonse. Something in him changed too—much to her relief, and so when he asked if they can share an apartment, she agreed with little fuss, besides they may as well help each other with the bills right?
When her friend was finally released from the hospital, this was around the time Phoebe had decided mulling over the idea of pursuing the theatrical arts. Of course she was still aiming to please her parents and taking up a business course—but something inside of her wanted to just stop and do what makes her happy. Finally a meeting with her parents at the age of 18 made it clear that it was pointless to even seek for their acceptance—they weren’t pleased and maybe never will be. So at 18 she had dropped her studies and, with enough encouragement from Alphonse, had decided to train to be an actress.

Now currently she has recently been recruited in the very same Amphitheater she went to all those years ago and little by little it feels like she can finally live her life.

Phoebe is someone who can plainly be described as a child acting like a mature adult. While it is true that her past has developed her sense of responsibility and independence, it doesn’t change the fact that she forces herself to act levelheaded. This is mostly because people tend to treat her like a child, and partly because the same paranoia of being a burden still plagues her. And despite her mind-set that ‘she’s responsible’ for everything that goes on around her, she’s actually very panicky and indecisive (she can’t make tough decisions—A.K.A. sometimes she tries too hard) so she can make a mess of things at times. But despite this, Phoebe is a very hard worker and puts effort into everything she is doing. She is friendly to everyone she meets, even towards strangers, albeit her social skills are very bad so she can sometimes say or do awkward things (or just--- awkward silence) Even at this age her crybaby attitude has not changed, and it actually frustrates her a lot if she cries in public. Her self-esteem is low (hence another reason for her desperate attempt to seem mature) but she is never one to lie or suck up to make herself feel better- she believes in sincerity and treats other as honest as possible. Phoebe has her flaws but she’s a caring person as a whole that wouldn't think twice at helping another individual.
