I was on a major Lion King high a few days ago and I decided to actually draw fanart.I haven't been able to see any pictures of little bitty Zira. Also everyone seems to give Mufasa and Taka (OMG?) with colored mane tufts. Got rid of thoses. None of that Chaka business here.
Anyway, Mufasa being pushed around for being to mean to Taka by Zira. Because Zira and Taka are a shiny Disney OTP.

Cute SCAR or TAKA as he used to be called before he got injured getting his scar and chose to change his name to SCAR as areminder of his foolish mistake. I used to like TLK to but grew out of it getting into Pokemon and MEWTWO now, but SCAR is still my favorite Disney character. Nice picture nice seeing MUFASA getting picked on for a change.

Great job on the facial expressions of each of these characters, though I'm not sure about Taka's line of vision. His right eye looks to be directed at the action, but the left seems to be staring into space. I'm really digging Mufasa's body language (his face may be sheepishly amused, but the way he's shying away from Zira shows he's really a little bit scared), and the texture of the grass is awesome too.

I'm really behind on Lion King stuff. 
But my lack of knowledge aside it's really great to see some fanart of Zira. She's awesome and her song has been stuck in my head for weeks now. It's brilliant how you've kept the same style eyes she has as an adult but reduced the length of her face to give her a childlike appearance. It does make her look a little softer. The firm expression doesn't make her look soft at all. Because messing with Taka is serious business.
Mufasa clearly isn't taking it seriously though. He seems half way between trying to look confidence and not showing a girl he's scared of her. And Taka just looks surprised by the "boyfriend" comment. The folded back hair makes him look so distinguished.

Taka is Scar. Um... Chaka was the name of Simba's son in pre-production of TLK 2. They were in originally going to have a boy as the heir. Then they added a sister. Then they made the girl the heir. Then they cut Chaka. I love some Disney.
I was worried about Zira's design. I actually used Nala as a base then made her thinner and added in the details that make Zira Zira. I love Zira too. TLK2 wasn't exactly brilliant but the mate to Scar was a great idea and I loved Nuka and Vitani. Simba needed to calm down.
Heh. That is actually the hair style for both Taka and Mufasa are from the the adult designs.

I thought it was Kopa...? And Zira killed Kopa as she believed her son (chosen by Scar) should be king, not Simba's, and that's why the group of Scar supporters were finally exiled? I do believe she killed Sarabi too, and that's why Sarabi doesn't feature in TLK2?
Anyways, I lov this picture. Zira is one of my fravourite lion king characters - second only to her daughter, Vitani. I adore your version of Zira as a cub - best version I've see yet!

That's pretty much the internet's consensus but Disney has never mentioned or alluded to any of it. Sarabi was not in the next movie because of the then recent death of her voice actress. Also because she had no reason place in the plot. As for Kopa, he was just cut early in development. Originally they were going to have Simba have twins to pay homage to Bambi but dropped the idea.

I had absolutely no idea. O_O Disney does have a lot of stuff I don't know about. But now I really want to research about Chaka. Is there any specific place (DVD, website, etc) that I can find information on him?
Glad to see you remembered Zira is thinner then the other lions. I imagine a lot of people forget that. A friend of mine is a bit of a Vitani fan. I want to look into that area more now. As for the movie in general I actually like it. I know most say all Disney sequels are bad but a few make it with me. Some don't though. I was horrified by "101 Dalmations 2: Patch's London Adventure" to start with. They completely disregarded Lucky's colour scheme which angered me a lot.

Oh let me see.. you can go, here . I'm not sure which one's he's in but it has all of his books in it. Or this one and click on Kopa. He was Kopa in the books. He went through about three names before being cut.
I don't know. I liked some parts of it but it really seemed very juvenile to me. But then I'm not the romantic type. XD (Couldn't stand Romeo and Juliet. Theykneweachotherfortwodaysemoedanddied.) Simba was a major annoyance as he just seemed too protective and it really didn't fit with the first movie. Plus Kiara was kinda, really a cannon sue. They cut a lot of good scenes from it as well including Zira musing about being queen. And one of the lines actually had then yell the wrong name.

Compared to a lot of sequels they've made it was okay. But I do agree with your points so I won't defend it too much. Even before I knew what OOC meant I couldn't help but feel that Simba was acting that way in the second movie. And I want to see Zira musing about being queen. ;-; While cutting out that "Morning Report" song from the first movie was a good idea to me (As it was a pointless song) I would have liked them to have kept Zira's musing in. And mainly I only like Romeo and Juliet if it's in a humour spin-off that isn't meant to be taken seriously.

TLK 2 was awesome compared to most. It just kind of scares me that it mirrored a story ~brose and I made in our preteen years. O_o
But Kovu was awesome.

That always happens in sequels. A poor, hapless friend of mine is a brilliant writer for one series but tends to find that the next game they bring out often uses ideas similar to hers. Pretty unlucky.
Kovu was one of those characters I adored when I was younger. He's pretty good looking for a lion. Damn that sounded weird.
