my first thought was the shadow creatures from the "Deep Sleep" games from the central character.

Such an odd show, and you've really managed to capture the spirit of it!
Love how you've kept to the dusky colours and the peculiar creepyness of some of (most of!) the characters.
Also like how the texture you've created in the background almost makes it look like a poster hanging in an open space.
