In the beginning, there was Chaos.

I love Greek mythology. I have been studying it for a comic I plan on doing in the future. As I've been going through it, I've drawn a few ponies or ponysonias of characters from Greek myth. I want to upload more, if I have time. This is the pony version of Chaos, the first of the primordial gods of Greek myth. From Chaos, other primordial gods sprang out of "it", like Gaea, Eros and Tartarus. Later, Chaos coupled with these gods to created more gods (although this changes according to who tells the story). Much like Tartarus, Chaos is often referred to as a place in Greek myth, a place where Titans go to hang out.

Head cannon for the MLP version of Chaos: Since other gods sprang from Chaos, I refer to Chaos as "it" since Chaos has no gender. I gave Chaos a more feminine-looking figure anyway considering that Equestria is a matriarchal society, and the female gender is more common for leaders and powerful ponies. Chaos' cutie mark is the symbol of "chaos", which represents the spread of infinity in all directions since chaos is always expanding the universe.

And the symbols on Chaos' body don't mean anything. I just think they look cool. If I was a better person, I would have looked up ancient Greek symbols related to magic or something like that.
