Wonderful scene composition and detail
I notice you've been chatting below about the trees - some of those default Vue trees can be a bit clunky can't they? Still one fine image!

Amazing render, especially because you have used Vue and the skin looks so beautiful.
The ecosystem looks very nice too, but to my mind the trees (if they are fully grown trees) would be a bit larger or, if they are in a far distance blured. Please don't be offended about that. Your picture is really nice and I love it.

No wonder it gave you the out of memory message. I'm having the same issues with this one I'm currently rendering - started rendering about six hours ago, and it's still only 24% done.

Oh, I've learnt a quick trick for foreground trees to avoid getting the blocky bits where the branches join the trunk - if you go into the plant editor and just boost the quality level up once, it smoothes the joints. The right-hand one looks OK, but the left one could perhaps do with a bit of smoothing.

Love the ecosystem in the foreground.

yeah, when i do a series scene like this one, i always get that message, but i have learnt to render in 3 parts and join them in photoshop, you should try that, if you keep getting that message "out of memory" . in cs3 and cs4 they have a color blending tool,. that makes the parts mix into each other and they are seemless.. very cool and thanks I will try that with the trees

Everild-Wolfden In reply to Emilyahedrick [2008-11-16 00:44:06 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I don;t get an out of memory message (not since I force-fed my computer RAM by sacrificing my hard-drive)....it just takes FOREVER. Take the poly count on this one I'm currently rendering - over 10,000,000,000 polys, PLUS volumetric lighting. Gah! Hehe! I might try that using the colour blending tool - I don't think it's one I've worked with before. I'm just going to let this one render for now, though.

Emilyahedrick In reply to Everild-Wolfden [2008-11-16 00:52:46 +0000 UTC]

i don't get that out of mem message either, unless i have several objects in it.. when I start going over 30 objects.. it starts getting crazy on me lol but i can have a lot of polys and have no trouble, as long as the object count is low.. I know its wierd huh? If you need help with that color blending send me a note and i will tell you exactly how to do it it comes in handy!!

Composition is nice.

Texturing specially on the trees since there so close up can be reworked and made better. The seams are to apparent, and theres some wierd blurring/smearing parts to it.

nice idea, and execution of the composition.

I bought some "Winter color" plants and ecosystem today 'cuz they were giving all their frequent customers a $5 gift certificate for Thanksgiving so the $11.99 package only cost me $6.99
