As a matter of personal opinion, I find this type of image far more appealing than the highly stylized works you've been posting for the last while. This is not to say that I don't like the other ones, but they lose a bit of their impact after seeing several of the same ilk. These ones seem to move beyond the gimmick and into a little more depth of emotion.
Diversity is good. Keep up the great work on both fronts! ^_^

I agree about the diversity. I keep myself open to doing...well... whatever I feel like doing. I don't feel like the other works utilized a sort of gimmick, however. Those have been the most personal peices to me. Though no one else may see the symbolism of proportions, etc... I know the intention and it suits me to express things I cannot say with words.
This particular piece, I created because I felt like doing something beautiful and fairy-like. But it holds no deep emotional connotation for myself. That's not to say that it can't for someone else. That's what makes art beautiful

Hmm... Interesting. I supposed that the proportioning was done in charicature (something that sort of reminded me of Lewis Carroll), and was done to draw the eye. You say the proportions are symbolic? I'll have to go back and have a fresh look with that in mind.

They are symbolic to me. I don't suppose that everyone would see so, though. The disproportions are meant to represent dysfunction in identity, and the feelings of being still childlike in adulthood. I'll do some more pieces like that, once the mood returns
